Dr. Manju Nayar MBBS, MHA, MPH

Dr ManjuNayar's career in healthcare spans more than two decades and multiple roles, initially as a clinician, then as a researcher and more recently as a public health professional. After years of practice as a family medicine physician in India, she moved to the USA where she has been working as a clinical research coordinator in the Department of Hematology Oncology and Transplant at the University of Minnesota. The focus of her research was on blood disorders and hematological malignancies. Dr Manju holds a dual Masters degree in Health Care Administration (MHA) and Public Health (MPH) from the School of Public Health, University of Minnesota. She also works as a freelance public health consultant on international public health projects where her primary interest is in global health, policy making and improving the standard of healthcare among marginalized populations in developing countries. She is also passionate about addressing maternal and child health challenges and health systems indicators that affect the health, wellness, and quality of life of women, children, and families. She has also ventured into the field of freelance cable medical journalism. Manju has a deep passion for teaching and community service. She serves on the board of directors of two nonprofits working for empowering less privileged children in India. Manju is also involved with the All Kerala Medical Graduates mentoring committee, as well as the School of Public Health alumni committee. Dr Manju's hobbies and passions include reading, writing, current affairs, traveling, interior decoration, dance, theater and arts.
