Pradeep Kumar (MBBS; MPH; Ph D)

Visiting Professor

Pradeep Kumar is a medical graduate with master’s degree and doctorate in public health. He served in Kerala
Health Department, in various capacities for about two and a half decades and retired as Additional Director of
health services. He has long term experience in dealing with public health programs and had the opportunity to hold
the post of State Surveillance Officer; State Program Officer for both communicable and non communicable disease
programs; and State Tobacco Control Program Officer. He also worked in the public health division of Sree Chitra
Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST), Trivandrum. He has working experience with
international and national research projects related to tobacco and NCD. Presently, he is the Director, Training and
Research in Health Systems Research India Initiative (HSRII) and working as Public Health Specialist in Centre for
Environment and Development, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.
