Dr. S.S. Lal is an internationally acclaimed public health leader with over twenty-five years of experience in global health. Until July 2nd, Lal worked as the Director, Infectious Diseases at Family Health International based in Washington DC, USA and he shifted his base to India in July 2020. Currently Lal works as the Professor and Head of Public Heath, Global Institute of Public Health, India and consultant of a Geneva- based digital health organization. He has worked for organizations including the WHO and The Global Fund and he has lived in the USA, Switzerland and East Timor. He is the Vice-Chair of a WHO Working Group and member of several other forums. Lal has MBBS, PhD, MPH and MBA. He is known for his scientific papers, creative writing, health columns and TV health shows.
