India and many other developing nations today face the double burden of diseases - a continuing battle with infectious diseases and an alarming rise in non-communicable diseases. However, there remains a serious shortage of trained public health professionals equipped to address these challenges through evidence-based approaches, policy planning, and system management.
The Master of Public Health (MPH) program at the Global Institute of Public Health (GIPH) has been developed in direct response to this need. Offered under the Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS), the program is a high-intensity, interdisciplinary course that emphasizes competency-based learning, analytical problem-solving, and leadership in public health practice.
Envisioned as a comprehensive and practice-oriented MPH program, it integrates principles of public health with innovative and context-relevant modules tailored to the health systems of India and other developing countries.
