Global Institute of Public Health
The Global Institute of Public Health (GIPH) was born out of a shared vision among public health leaders who recognized the need for specialized, world-class training in the region. To address the shortage of institutions in Asia offering comprehensive, practice-oriented programmes, GIPH was conceptualized as a state-of-the-art public health institute tailored to the needs of India and other developing nations.
Founded under the Ananthapuri Educational Trust - a non-profit organization dedicated to excellence in health and medical education - GIPH draws strength from its integration with the Ananthapuri Hospitals and Research Institute (AHRI), a 500-bed tertiary care teaching hospital. This affiliation provides students and researchers with direct access to clinical, community, and research facilities, seamlessly blending theory with practice.
Over the years, GIPH has evolved into a vibrant hub of interdisciplinary learning and research, bringing together experts, policymakers, and scholars from around the world. Its strategic partnerships with leading universities, research centres, and global organizations have positioned it at the forefront of public health education in India.
