Educational and professional background
Dr. Vinay Mohan comes from a clinical background and serves as a WHO Medical Consultant - Field with the Government of India Tuberculosis Technical Support Network (TB-TSN) in Bihar. In this role, he supports tuberculosis control and elimination efforts across the state.
Why I chose GIPH and my programme
Coming from clinical practice, I wanted to look beyond the needs of an individual patient and develop a broader, population-based understanding of health. The MPH programme at GIPH gave me the opportunity to make that shift in perspective and see public health in a new way.
My experience at GIPH
My journey at GIPH was one of the most meaningful experiences of my professional life. The knowledge, research experience and field exposure I gained there have been invaluable in my current work.
What made the experience especially memorable was the people. The faculty and staff were approachable, encouraging and willing to go the extra mile. Their support extended beyond academics: they guided us, encouraged our ideas, helped us work through challenges and took a real interest in our growth. GIPH showed me that an institution is shaped not only by its curriculum or infrastructure, but also by the people who bring it to life. I remain grateful to the entire GIPH family for giving me both the knowledge to understand public health differently and the confidence to put that knowledge into action.
