Dr. Amala Anie John is an accomplished academician, trainer, and administrator with over two decades of national and international experience in education, communication, and institutional leadership. She brings a multidisciplinary perspective to public health education, with expertise in teaching, training, and capacity building across diverse cultural and professional settings.

Academic Background

Dr. Amala holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Kerala, with research focused on education and employment linkages. She also holds a Master’s degree in Economics, a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, and an MBA in Human Resource Management. Her academic foundation is complemented by a Postgraduate Diploma in Teacher Training.

Professional Experience

Dr. Amala has held a wide range of academic and leadership roles in India and abroad. She has served as Principal-in-charge and Senior Faculty for MBA programs at ICFAI, Kerala, and later as Head of Business Studies in Bahrain. She has also held key roles in quality assurance and staff development in international educational institutions, contributing to institutional growth and academic excellence.

At the Global Institute of Public Health, she serves as Assistant Professor, designing and delivering courses in Gender Studies and Health Economics for MPH students, while actively mentoring and guiding students in their academic journey.

Training, Consultancy & Leadership

Dr. Amala is the Founder and CEO of FEMS GSkool, where she designs and delivers training programs on soft skills, leadership, and professional development. She also serves as a Placement Trainer and Quality Coach with the University of Kerala, preparing students for career readiness through structured training modules.

She is actively engaged as a trainer with the Kerala Police Training College and Kerala Police Academy under the Bodhyam Project, focusing on gender sensitization, communication, and soft skills training for police personnel. Her training approach emphasizes critical reflection, inclusivity, and rights-based perspectives.

Research and Contributions

Dr. Amala has contributed to research and policy through publications and consultancy projects, including work on education, employment, and socio-economic development. She has also coordinated and executed research projects for government, corporate, and non-governmental organizations.

Her academic contributions include publications on women’s education and development, and policy documents aimed at restructuring the Kerala economy.

Media and Communication

With a strong background in journalism and media, Dr. Amala has served as Editor and Founder Member of ThouNewz and held editorial roles in digital media platforms. She is an eloquent speaker and writer, actively engaging in public discourse through articles, debates, and online platforms.
