She worked as a Research Intern at the Global Institute of Public Health from 12 December 2016 to 15 April 2017. At that time, she was a fresh postgraduate with limited work experience.
Why I chose GIPH for my internship
GIPH gave me an opportunity to encounter real-world research and understand its different dimensions at the beginning of my professional journey.
My internship experience at GIPH
During the internship, I assisted with two research studies. The first was Mass Gathering, Health Domains and Health System Responsiveness: A Study on Sabarimala Pilgrimage in Kerala, funded by the Indian Council of Medical Research. The second was Environmental Health and Livelihood in Kuttanad: Evolving a Community Enabled Monitoring Tool, funded by Kerala State Science and Technology.
My time at GIPH remains memorable because of both the learning experiences and the people. Chitra Ma'am, Shafi Sir, Nayar Sir and Jinbert Sir were kind and encouraging, making GIPH one of my favourite places to have worked.
