Public Administration and Governance Intern

At the time of the internship, she was an undergraduate student of Public Administration and Governance at XIM University, Bhubaneswar. She is now pursuing a Master's in Public Policy and Digital Economy at Mount Carmel Deemed-to-be University, Bengaluru, while working as a Research Associate in Education and Learning for a private organisation.

GIPH was my first internship and my first opportunity to encounter public health beyond the classroom. It became my first stepping stone into the world of public policy and gave me a way to connect my studies in public administration and governance with public health practice.

GIPH taught me more than any single academic module could have. It was a learning environment where I encountered the administrative realities of public health, took part in meaningful discussions about real-world health challenges, experienced field-based work and learned about the people and institutions working to address those challenges.

What made the experience especially valuable was the welcome I received as an undergraduate intern. I was encouraged to learn, ask questions, contribute and engage. The experience continues to shape the way I understand public policy and governance today, and it gave me learning that extended far beyond the internship itself.
