Biography
Dr. Hemachandran is a public health specialist with over 35 years of experience across government, multilateral and bilateral health systems, including tuberculosis control with WHO, health sector partnerships with GIZ, and program management and evaluation with USAID.
Public Health Leadership
He led public health emergency preparedness at the Primary Health Care Corporation in Qatar before retiring in 2026.
Areas of Interest and Writing
His interests include epidemiology, disease surveillance and health systems strengthening, alongside science writing for both English and Malayalam audiences.
